Review: Paige Straight Leg Jeans

Old blouse, Paige “Hidden Hills” straight leg jeans, Prada Sunglasses, LV Speedy 30 bag

I bought these jeans a few weeks before my high-rise stunners, and I can honestly say I love these just as much. They are not high waisted but sit just below my belly button, are the perfect dark wash, and fit like a dream. Just another example of luxury jean perfection.

The rise on these jeans hits be about an inch below my belly button, which, for a “standard” jean is just perfect. The waistband has two buttons making it about 1.5′ thick, perfect for tucking. This particular Paige denim style has a fair amount of stretch in them which means they conform to my curves beautifully. After a bit of tailoring, these are my every day wear-with-everything jeans.

In other news, how amazing are these sunglasses?! I had some Nordstrom store credit and wanted to spend it on something I needed, but that was also fun. I realistically only own 1 pair of functioning sunglasses so I knew it was time to add a second pair to my collection. These have “bone lace” detailing in ivory laid on a cream plastic framing. With a slight cat eye and perfect weight, i’m obsessed. Prada does it again!

More lovin’ in the woods: 3 year anniversary shoot, continued

These are the last of the three year anniversary pictures shot by Lydia Hudgens, and are perhaps my favorite in the bunch. This top one is such a great posed picture of us and the lighting is just phenom.

As a reminder, my dress is James Perse (reviewed here), heels from Nordstrom, Alexis Bittar earrings and J.Crew bracelet

^^We’re cool.

^^BaBAM! See that badunk? I really don’t think my tush has ever looked that high… or large.

3 Year Dating Anniversary Photos + James Perse LBD Review

^^That face! It melts my heart

Get ready for a picture heavy post! A few weeks ago boyfriend and I met with the amazingly talented Lydia Hudgens to shoot some photos. If you can believe it, he and I have never had professional pictures done in the 3+ years we have known each other. He detests being in front of the camera and is always busy shooting photos for ThePearShape! I absolutely love how these turned out and how comfortable Lydia helped him feel.

My favorite part about these particular pictures is that they catch us in our natural state. They aren’t too posed or contrived, but show us touching and laughing and kissing, much how we are on a regular day.

We opted for neutral color pallets to keep the emphasis on us. Boyfriend is wearing J.Crew jeans, Burberry watch, and a Banana Republic shirt.

I opted for my new favorite LBD: the James Perse ruched v-neck dress and an old pair of snakeskin heels found at Nordstrom. Accentuated with YSL lipstick and Alexis Bittar earrings gifted by boyfriend for my birthday. I didn’t want to wear Spanx or control anything in these photos, but really reflect how we naturally look. This dress did an amazing job of hiding my imperfections (read: arms and thighs) and accentuating my curves. I couldn’t have felt more comfortable.

Thank you so much to Lydia for the amazing photos and stay tuned for the second half of the set coming at you tomorrow!

Double Vested: Layering Vests & Retaining Shape

Banana Republic vest (similar & awesome), Zara knit vest (last seen here), Everlane silk collarless top (invite), J.Crew Pixie pant, Hunter Huntress boots (full review here), Prada sunglasses, Gap bow belt (similar)

After a gorgeous Saturday and Sunday, Memorial Day Monday was gloomy and rainy, in typical San Francisco fashion. Boyfriend and I didn’t want to stay cooped up inside so I pulled back out my cold-weather gear and layered to the best of my abilities. I relied on my trusty rain boots to keep my feet warm, and wanted to be comfortable up top. Refusing to don my Winter coats, I layered two thinner vests for a makeshift outwear piece and loved the versatility and styling options it created.

The Zara draped knit vest was a perfect under piece which I quickly wrapped around myself for added warmth. I secured it in place with my favorite bow belt to define my waist, and threw on my best-ever Banana Republic purchase: faux fur hiking vest.

Layered underneath was my new favorite silk button down: Everlane collarless silk (pictured here in light grey) (invite). Messy hair and my go-to sunglasses pulled it all together. I’m entirely obsessed with the effortlessly chic vibe it created and am already dreaming of new textured layering pieces for cooler months.
