Anthropologie Embellished Sleeve Top, Reworked

Anthropologie top, Banana Republic jeans, Pour La Victoire wedges, Chanel WOC

A few nights ago I had the pleasure of attending RewardStyle’s Back to School night. They gathered quite a few bloggers in Fort Mason and talked all things blogging and social media. Anytime I get together with bloggers I am instantly more comfortable busting out my crazy duds. If you remember this top from this post, I love it, but Cesar doesn’t so I tend to reserve it for girls only evenings.

Embellished sweater2

This time I paired it with my favorite BR jeans that i’m actually dying to get a second pair of. These have been true workhorses and no designer jean even comes close.

And a few other embellished tops i’m obsessed over. Like really, poor Cesar.

Rag and Bone Harrow Bootie Review

Rag and Bone “Harrow” bootie, Banana Republic jeans, Gap sweater (similar)

I’m just going to put it out there and say that i’m bad at San Francisco weather when it comes to shoes. I’ve mentioned this issue before: that I seriously don’t know what to put on my feet when it’s too cold for flats but too warm for knee-high boots. I was seriously hoping the solution were these Rag and Bone booties. With their lower cut front and reasonable heel height, I had hope! But, after taking these pictures and seeing what they truly look like on, I couldn’t justify the price tag. See below for full reasoning.

The side view is where a lot of the issue lies. My feet look like boats, I kind of feel like a clown, and I don’t like the shape of the shoe or the heel (the way it kind of curves in at the back). Comfort wise they weren’t as comfortable as I would want for walking the city streets (i’m spoiled after my Tieks), and the leather would have taken some breaking in. I also wasn’t a fan of how high they came up on the sides of my ankles.

Material wise, the leather is great quality and the black is gorgeous. The details like the wrap around are sensational. I don’t particularly care for how they wrap straight across the front ankle, but I could get over that.

All in all, these looked great with black tights and a little skirt but not so good with jeans rolled up or tucked in. For $500+ they better look amazing with everything, so back they went. Have you tried the booties? I’d love to know what you wear in these sort of weather predicaments!

I Wear Mini Dresses And I Cannot Lie

J.Crew dress (similar concept), Ann Taylor flats (old, but obsessed with these), Gifted no brand bag, Vintage necklace

Yup, shocker to the internet: I wear mini dresses! This one is even a bit short for my liking but there it is, my legs out in the open. Truth be told i’m not as comfortable in teeny tiny dresses as some, but this whole blogging journey of mine has brought me to the realization that you’ve gotta flaunt what you’ve got, and love it regardless.

To balance out the short length, I tend to go for mini dresses that are a bit roomier in the torso. This helps me feel a little better and not like the dress is going to ride up at any second.

And yes, that is a monogrammed bag from my brother’s wedding. Remember when I posted it on Instagram!?

Ombre Orange + Longer Length Peplum

IMG_0311-2Orange peplum from Paris (similar), BDG Jeans, Wedges from DSW (similar), Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, J.Crew necklace

I told you these jeans would make quite a few appearances on the blog. This time, worn with a top over the high waist, and i’m equally as in love. I’ve had this peplum top for years. When I was in college I studied abroad in Brussels and made frequent weekend trips to Paris to shop. During one of those trips I came away with this stunning rust/orange peplum. It is a bit longer in the back than the front, and hits me lower at my hips than i’m used too, posing a bit of a style challenge.

The top has somewhat of a scooped back, if you can tell in this photo. This creates a beautiful silhouette and doesn’t cut the tush in half at the widest part. I paired it with very tapered, slimming bottoms and basic shoes to keep the attention upward. I also added this gorgeous J.Crew bubble necklace that I scored years and years ago on Ebay for dirt cheap.

One thing about this top is that any bra line or bra spillage shows through. In other words, it is absolutely necessary to wear a complete coverage t-shirt bra. I’m wearing this one and couldn’t recommend it more.
