A few days ago I decided to temporarily lift my self-imposed spending ban. It’s been great to take a long detox from spending but there were a few sales that were just too good to pass up, and I couldn’t resist stocking up on Winter basics while they were dirt cheap. ASOS was having a huge sale and I managed to get an additional 15% off the clearance items I ordered. I scooped up this knit t-shirt, this gorgeous mossy green sweater and this fuzzy mint number. That same day I got an email from StyleMint saying that my credits (that I had no idea existed) were going to expire if I didn’t spend them within 48 hours. Unbeknownst to me I had about $120 sitting online that I hadn’t used. I picked up this basic grey chunky sweater as i’ve been absolutely living in my ASOS open front cardigan all Winter. Finally, I have been hearing so much about American Eagle jeans that I decided to take advantage of their jeans sale and pick up a pair i’d been eyeing. I got these high-rise jeggings as i’ve been just itching to test out the destroyed trend. I’ll be sure to keep you updated!
So I have a J.Crew addiction. Sue me. Also, Cesar loves this outfit. #Winner. But in all seriousness, I didn’t notice how much this skirt highlights my recent pooch as it does in these photos. In real life I feel much more comfortable wearing tops that tuck into this skirt but these pictures make me look preggo (not preggo, for reference). Regardless, I really like this outfit and appreciate the European feel it has.
Each of these pieces have been true workhorses for me since purchased. This skirt has been styled countless ways and this scarf makes the perfect pattern mix basic. J.Crew boots have also surprised me. While not the most comfortable shoes for long-time wear, they are sleek and serve the purpose for nights out and work days.
What are your thoughts on this skirt? Does anyone else own it?
A simple styling of one of my favorite finds from ASOS. I absolutely love this dress and have had the zipper fixed, the dress dry cleaned and steamed more times than I can count. I have been itching to pick up another color of this sort of skater style (perhaps with sleeves), and listed a few down at the bottom of the post that i’m considering.
A no-makeup face for your morning.
Always having fun while shooting. Hello there!
I wore this outfit to a party at a coworker’s house on Sunday and felt pretty great. I wanted to be comfortable but still look chic and my go-to to accomplish this is always all black. My pixie pants served me well and these boots are just comfortable enough for all-day wear while still looking put together.
In other news, Cesar and I had an amazing Valentine’s Day. He sent me gorgeous red tulips and cooked me a steak dinner. We capped off the evening binge watching House of Cards. Ob. Sessed.
My jacket from Andrew Marc above is one of the most versatile items in my wardrobe. It happens to be from 2 seasons ago but here are a few updated options i’m loving:
