A Shirt That Encapsulates the Theme of This Blog

Not Photoshopped shirt, Francesca’s Boutique skirt (so old, similar here), SPANX tights, Seychelles boots (new version: obsessed), Sole Society hat, Prada sunglasses

You can’t see it, but this shirt reads: “Not Photo Shopped,” and I love it. I’ve worn it once before on this blog, but i’m pulling it out again just because I feel like if there is one clothing item that encapsulates the theme of what i’m trying to get across when writing ThePearShape, it’s this shirt.

I started this blog with the intention of showing women how I dress myself. Simple as that. Perhaps provide a bit of fashion inspiration, tips, tricks, and pieces that I felt flattered a pearshaped or curvy figure along the way. I’m elated with where this blog has gone and sincerely can say that i’m proud to have kept it in its original state.

Every outfit you see is rawly shot by Cesar, sometimes on the roof of our building, or in our front entryway. I edit in Lightroom and don’t even blur out pimples if they come, because I feel like it truly allows you to see me, who I am on a day to day basis.

I love that my readers have grown with me, created their own community and help each other. I receive countless emails a day from women thanking me for being an inspiration, and while I wouldn’t call myself just that, I so sincerely appreciate every kind word. Women explain to me how while they “wouldn’t dream” of discussing their own body issues on social media or the internet in general, they read my blog for inspiration in the morning, and I couldn’t thank them enough for being silent soldiers on this adventure with me.

There are going to be a few changes coming to the blog in the next few weeks. Nothing major at all, but I want to keep you guys in the loop as they come. Please know that this blog will not change it’s goal, or message, or content for that matter, but some fun opportunities have arisen that I think will only serve to help the audience of ThePearShape, and I couldn’t be more excited. So thank you for being on this journey with me, and stay tuned!

Love the ’90s throwback feel of this outfit! And thrilled to have found your blog. It can be so discouraging to see only the tiny models in the clothes online and wondering what they would look like on a woman with curves! Your blog has helped me to branch out a bit from what I would normally wear, so thank you!

Yay i’m so glad to hear it Kayley! I’m still working on branching out myself but am astounded how putting myself in front of a camera for 1.5+ years has helped in that department

  • That shirt is too cute! I love long-sleeved casual shirts; so comfy and perfect for someone (me) who gets cold really easy.
I also love the whole “No Photoshop” angle. I feel like I’ve always been drawn more to natural, non-airbrushed photos over the perfect glossy ones. Great job!

      thank you 🙂 I couldn’t agree more

Hi Lauren! I love your blog. Up until two years ago, I hated my figure. I would hide behind baggy clothes and had zero confidence. I would even avoid going outside! Your blog is so encouraging for *all* women, not just pear shaped ladies. Our negative society needs more people like you. Your fashion tips are easy to follow and make dressing for my body type simple. I especially loved your post on the wide-calf Hunter rain boots. I have always wanted a pair but could never fit into them. Seeing you rock the look made me finally buy a pair without feeling ashamed.

Thanks so much for doing what you do! You’re a real inspiration (not to mention such a sharp dresser)! Keep up the great work.
