Spring Dress Made Winter Appropriate

DSC_1306-2Forever 21 dress (so old, similar and similar), Anthropologie pin (old, similar), Zara puffer, SPANX tights (obsessed), Seychelles boots (this year’s on sale!)

I think I said this same thing in the last post this dress was featured in, but, i’ve had this dress for absolutely ever. I’m talking, junior year in highschool, ever. Yet it remains one of my favorites for it’s easy swing shape and endless styling possibilities. Last time I styled this dress for Spring/Summer and I wanted to show you how I still use a Summer-y colored dress like this for Winter.

After picking up this Zara puffer (review here), I have a new obsession with slim puffer jackets. And faux fur. It acts as a great catch-all jacket and doesn’t require layering underneath which eliminates that bulky look.

I’ve been really getting into pins and brooches lately and this little guy from Anthropologie has made it’s way onto a lot of my dresses. A pin is a great way to jazz up an otherwise boring dress, especially in Winter when you might not want to deal with freezing cold necklaces laying on your neck!

Basic black tights, always from SPANX, and comfy black boots complete the layering of this dress!

On The Hunt: Holiday Party Dress

Guys, I made a Black Friday/ Cyber Monday mistake. For weeks I have been looking for a dress to wear to my company’s holiday party. I ordered (only) 2 options during the sales this weekend absolutely, positively sure that at least one would fit and would be a winner. WRONG. I am now left dress-less and all the sales are over. Regardless, this girl needs something to wear. Here are a few i’m considering and would love your opinion as to which one could be a winner. Help a friend out?

Holiday Office Party: Kenneth Cole Jersey Dress

Kenneth Cole dress (old, more options below), Assorted vintage necklaces, Sam Edelman sandals

My office has a company holiday party in a few weeks and because i’m obsessive, i’ve been thinking about what dress I want to wear for quite some time. I’ve ordered and returned a few dresses (including the striped one from this post, a dud), and have been styling old options to try and pull something from my closet. This Kenneth Cole sheath dress has made it’s debut many times at office parties and more formal events, and is a decent option for our party.

Accessorizing it has always been a challenge. This time around I opted for layered necklaces and enjoyed the look.

If I were to wear this dress to my holiday party, I would have to slip on some SPANX just to create clean lines in the rear-end area.

A bold lip and big curls and this dress goes from basic to pretty darn glamorous if I do say so myself.

And a little pose to brighten your hump day!

As this dress is ancient, here are a few more navy jersey sheath dresses i’m loving. Stay tuned tomorrow for more dresses i’m considering ordering for this party.

Men’s Holiday Gift Guide 2013

Shopping for Cesar is probably one of the hardest tasks. He doesn’t ever want anything and is very particular about what he likes and doesn’t like. As a result, i’ve often resorted to unique gifts (creative ice cube molds, flying airplanes and beautiful flasks). While this year we’ve agreed to only give each other stocking stuffer type presents, I asked Cesar to put together a list of things he’d love to receive. And who knows, some of these may just end up in his stocking this year!

I’d love to know, what do you get your guys for Christmas? I’m already compiling ideas for next year!
