Layering Floral in Old Navy Ponte Dress

Madewell top (same cut in Winter colors), Old Navy dress (full review here), H&M necklace (old), SPANX tights, Kurt Geiger shoes (borrowed from Jennifer)

This dress makes me feel so great that I just had to find a way to layer it into Fall.  A cherry blouse and black tights took care of the top portion, and with these amazing shoes borrowed from a blogger bud, it’s a happy, cheery yet warm(er) way to wear this favorite.

For those that didn’t catch the last full review of this dress, it is the cheapest, most amazing piece. At nearly $25 from Old Navy, it has served me amazingly from Summer into Fall and I envision layering it under chunky knits and coats into Winter.

Review: Vince Wool Car Coat

Vince Wool Car Coat (on sale!) (wearing size L), Nordstrom white T-Shirt, JamesJeans jeans (linked in dark wash), Jack Purcell shoes

Last week during Nordstrom’s half-yearly sale I had one of the most major shopping scores of my young shopper career. This Vince car coat, which i’ve been eyeing for a while, was 40% off with the last one available in my size. I received the coat just a few days later and legitimately have not taken it off since. It is just so gorgeous (especially on a fuller figured girl, rather than the slim model) and I absolutely love it.

Truthfully, I don’t own any other item like this. It is the most draped, softly structured garment in my closet but I love it for precisely that reason. The way that the contrasting colors drape in the front, the length hitting right at my knees and freeing feel make it so much fun to wear.

The coat is wool and is a two-tone color with a light charcoal coating the outside, and a soft camel fully lining the interior. When the coat is turned up at the sleeves or blows in the wind, the gorgeous camel peeks through.

The snaps you see above technically work to drape the coat over and close on the opposite end, but I do not plan to wear it in this way at all. I love the blanket-like ability to wrap it, and even envision myself wearing it belted.

The bottom is a beautiful curved hem with slits on either side (much more flattering in my opinion than up the back). The coat also falls fully to my knees in the front and the back, eliminating any unflattering cut across my widest part.

I absolutely could not ask for a more fun yet timeless addition to my closet.

Preliminary Review: Vince Wool Open Front Coat

You may remember from this roundup how much I loved this Vince wool coat (still on sale!). It is unlike anything else I own or have ever considered, and when Nordstrom had it at over 40% off and in my size, I had to snatch it up. I plan to do a full, in-depth review of the coat but I wanted to snap these photos with my phone just after pulling it out of the box and give you my initial review. In short, i’m so in love with it. The draping is so flattering, it is long enough in the back that it doesn’t cut across my widest part, and looks just as amazing closed with a belt.

Please excuse the poor photo quality but stay tuned for a full review next week!

Holiday Outfit Idea: Pretty in Pink

Old shirt (similar), KTR skirt, SPANX tights, Sole Society booties c/o, Prada sunglasses

This skirt has served me so well (last seen here). It always my go-to for festive holiday parties and gets a ton of compliments. The full skirt style, beautiful bow and flattering length make it so comfortable to wear, and it goes with virtually anything. Pink is totally a neutral in my book!

Every week for the next 5 weeks i’ll be posting a holiday themed outfit idea for the season. I get such joy out of planning my outfits for Thanksgiving and the holidays in December that I thought i’d share what i’m loving! Get ready for tons of sparkles, and fun colors.

In other news, how amazing are these booties! The cut out is amazingly flattering and they are surprisingly comfortable given the high heel.

What are your thoughts on pink for the holidays?
