Outfit Miss: Vintage + Club Monaco Faux Fur

Vintage sweater, Club Monaco faux fur (my style is sold out, but this one is similar and on sale!), James Jeans, DUO boots, Prada sunglasses

For the new year one of the things I want to continue to do on this blog is be completely open and honest about my outfits, even if they aren’t stellar. So I figured I would start the year out with an outfit that fits in the not-so-great bucket.

Looking at these pictures I kind of have mixed feelings about this outfit. I didn’t realize how puffy the arms of this sweater truly are, and how odd looking the turtleneck is. But, as mentioned, this blog is about showcasing what I actually wear, good or bad!

Regardless of the turtleneck, I do still loooove this vest, and am constantly surprised how versatile it is. It has been a wonderful layering piece under jackets and the perfect piece to throw on to head outside in the brisk San Francisco weather.

Also, these boots. Can we just talk about them for a second? Amaze.

On my wish list for the new year, these sunglasses to change up the shade game. Happy 2014!

Christmas in Tahoe 2013

Cesar and I are not ones for celebrating, especially Christmas. Growing up jewish it has little significance for me, and I have few memories associated with it, and it doesn’t have the fondest memories for Cesar, so this year I decided to plan a little getaway for us. Spend a few days out of the city, in the mountains doing something fun. So off to Tahoe we went and skied the day away!

As you can imagine, I am the world’s worst skier. Literally. I am terrified of ski lifts (hate the heights), fall all over the place and am the biggest wuss. On the opposite note, this was Cesar’s second time ever skiing and he is literally a prodigy. Went down crazy hills on his second run and nailed it.

While we had a great time on the mountain, I most loved the beauty that lives in Tahoe. The gorgeous snow, beautiful sky and amazing trees, I was in heaven. But the best part of all was spending some quality time with a guy that I love with my whole heart.

Until next year, Tahoe. I’m thinking you’ll be a tradition. I hope all of you had a wonderfully fantastic Christmas! I couldn’t love you more.

Joules Puffer Vest

Joules vest c/o, J.Crew sweater (similar), James Jeans c/o, Jack Purcell sneakers, Prada sunglasses

This weekend was a pretty relaxed one for Cesar and I. We hung around the city, did a few errands and generally laid pretty low as the rest of our friends were off for the holiday. Not being ones to celebrate a ton this time of year, we are opting to escape to Tahoe together for a few days. Skiing, hot chocolate and good food are what’s on the menu for this week. Stay tuned for some gorgeous ski pictures coming your way soon!

In other news, this gorgeous Joules puffer vest will surely be coming with me to Tahoe. It is incredibly warm and not too bulky, and I love the canary yellow color and pop of stripes within. Plus, it has a detachable hood! I’m such a sucker for great details. In fact, all of their vests rock.

Regular posting schedule will be back Thursday. Until then, on behalf of Cesar and I, we wish you a healthy, happy, and joy-filled Christmas season!

This post was sponsored by Joules. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that support my shopping addiction.

Banana Republic Turtleneck

Banana Republic turtleneck, Cache dress worn as skirt (super old, similar), SPANX tights, Steve Madden boots, Borrowed clutch, Club Monaco belt

I ordered this BR turtleneck after ordering the J.Crew version and being disappointed by its itchiness. This turtleneck is the most amazing quality, thick and comfortable, with absolutely no itching. The neck is more of a cowl than a true turtleneck which I actually appreciate (less choking feeling) and has ribbing along the bottom and sleeves, which adds great dimension.

I am absolutely in love with this yellow color I scored and adore how it pairs with gold jewelry. This beaded clutch was borrowed from my good friend Kate and I adore it. She scored it on Poshmark for only a few bucks!

Finally, for sizing reference, i’m wearing a M here and the fit is great. Happy Thursday friends!
