Ted Baker Ohavia Peplum Sweater

Ted Baker peplum (wearing a Ted Baker size 4), J.Crew pixie pant, Seychelles boots (this season’s), Prada sunglasses

Guys, I think this top is my new favorite piece in my closet (aside from this baby, of course, let’s be real). The moment I put this on in the Neiman Marcus dressing room I felt amazing. That feeling doesn’t come very often so I made the immediate decision to buy it, regardless of the cost. Lucky me it was on sale plus the FF sale at Neimans, so bringing home that feeling didn’t break the bank. I love the exaggerated peplum, hot pink look-at-me pink knit, long sleeve length and thickness of the material. I’m so so smitten.

One thing that immediately struck me was the brilliant placing of the knit stitching. As you can see, it crosses directly over my chest, while continuing down the front narrowing my waist. This, of course, does great things to make my width look smaller while making my chest look great.

I love the back length of this top as well. Long enough to cover the top of pants but not so long that it cuts off the rear. The peplum also somewhat flattens in the back which I think gives it a unique look.

The knit is mostly cotton, part wool and party poly/blend and is very soft. I wear it with a Banana Republic tank underneath just to streamline my undergarments but it would be totally fine without it. The sweater is incredibly thick and heavy and didn’t require a jacket on top when I wore it last Friday.

I’m so so in love with this and would recommend it a million ways to Sunday. Further proof that Ted Baker is one of my favorite brands for pearshapes. Please let me know if you pick up this sweater and share your styling with me!

Snakeskin Pants for Fall

Adam Tucker leather jacket (this year’s), Macys pants (very similar), Nordstrom flats (similar), vintage clutch, Prada sunnies

Over a year ago I broke out of my shell and reviewed patterned pants for the first time on my blog. I remember being terrified of what people would think, judging a pearshape, thicker girl on the internet for wearing such outlandish pants on her frame. Fast forward to today and I genuinely love these pants for Fall. I tend to style them with more muted tones (whites, blacks, etc) and adore the streamlined, chic look.

I love the look of black on black on black and upon reviewing these pictures, think i’m going to invest in a few more black pieces to achieve this look again. I’m thinking a black turtleneck next time?

Really loving all of these textures/prints and pops of red.

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far. I’ll be wearing this outfit tonight out with friends in the city. A little snakeskin spice for evening never hurt anyone!

Banana Republic Sloan Ankle Pant

Banana Republic Sloan Pant

Every once in a while I come across a clothing item that has made quite a stir in the fit-blogger community. When Jean posted about her petite experiences with the Banana Republic Sloan pant, and I saw the plethora of positive reviews on the BR website, I knew I had to order them. I have the forrest green color on the left coming my way but if the fit is great, i’ll be putting in for a navy and cranberry pair soon enough. Have any of you tried the Sloan?

Three Prints for Fall

LOFT jacket (similar), Piperlime sweater, BDG jeans, Adam Tucker shoes, Prada sunglasses

Remember when I mixed three prints in a Summer inspired outfit? Well, I took the challenge on for this season and I don’t know if an outfit could get more Fall inspired than this. A vampy lip and about every cold-weather pattern you can imagine come together. I loved combining so many color schemes but somehow making the outfit feel cohesive. Black was the common thread pulling everything together and minimal accessories kept it from feeling too busy.

In other news, i’m still looking for the perfect pair of high waist flare or bootcut jeans for Fall. I think this outfit would have been killer with a pair in a dark wash. So, if you have any leads, please help a girl out!

Finally, i’m seriously loving this necklace that was sent my way by an old friend Heather Ross who has her own jewelry line. I’ve worn it with countless outfits and adore that it ties everything together without being too busy.

Thanks for reading and happy hump day!
