How To Wear Flare Jeans

IMG_1051

Let’s put flares on the list of things I never thought i’d own. They always felt clunky and like they were adding weight to my bottom half instead of detracting from it. But guys, i’m hooked. Few pants have made me felt slimmer and sexier than these.

When wearing a pant with a wide leg, I always like to keep the top simple but bold. No patterns or big volume, but a punchy color to draw the eye upward.

You may have noticed, but my solution to most things in life is: tuck, tuck, tuck.

Here’s my thinking: When wearing flared pants, you want your legs to look as long as possible. That’s sort of the point. So, tuck the shirt into the front of the pants to show the top of the pant line. This will make your legs look miles long and won’t cut them off mid-hip where your shirt ends.

What are your thoughts on flares?

Part of the fun of living in a city like San Francisco is hosting friends from out of town. A few weeks back I had the pleasure of hosting my “little sister” from my college sorority! She is quite the photog (check out her website here) so we couldn’t help but snap a few pictures. I’ve been living in some variation of this outfit (bomber jacket, maxi dress & belt) all Summer in San Francisco and loved that she documented it for me!

For those wondering, this jacket is from Club Monaco and i’m wearing a size L. It has been my most-worn item this last season and I couldn’t recommend it more.

I am so pleased to finally be able to share a fun photoshoot I did with the other Poshmark bloggers for Racked San Francisco a few weeks back! We gathered in the city with the insanely talented Erica Garlieb and had the most fun styling our own individual takes on Fall Brights and trends we are loving/hating for the season. Hop on over to Racked to see the images of all of us together (our styles are so individual and so fun!) and brace yourselves for a picture heavy post below. Thanks again to Racked, Erica and Poshmark for a wonderful afternoon and feature!

Striped Skater Dress For Work

IP1A0808

Gap dress (old, similar), Ferragamo “Vara” pumps, Vintage belt

You’ve seen this dress before, but I wanted to restyle it sans tights and for warmer weather as we head into Summer. Honestly, I couldn’t love this dress more. It has a dramatic shape and the stripes give it some added interest. Paired with my classic Ferragamo Vara’s (still one of my best investments to date), it is a cute outfit that works perfectly for the office or out to dinner.

Once again these amazing photos were shot by my talented friend Erica Garlieb. She is a fantastic new photographer in the Bay Area. Love. Obsessed.
