Tibi Peplum & Erica Garlieb Photography

IP1A0322

Tibi Peplum, Nordstrom x Topshop skirt (similar), Sam Edelman sandals (old, but these are amazing), J.Crew bracelet, Clinique lipstick in “Roundest Raspberry”

Yesterday’s post was all about styling this top casually for weekend wear, but today’s takes this gorgeous peplum out for evening. I paired it with my favorite bold skirt and classic heels, and kept the other accessories to a minimum. I really wanted my hair and lip color to accent the top, which is the true focal point of the outfit. Likewise, on this particular day I had the amazing opportunity to shoot with Erica Garlieb, a sensational SF-based photographer. Her talent is seriously unmatched and I couldn’t be more grateful for the chance, and thrilled with the results.

Thank you again Erica for these amazing photos. And i’d love to know from you guys, which outfit style is your favorite for this top?

Minted

I’m having a moment with printed things. All of a sudden i’m buying cards to hand-write and send to friends and thinking about prints to finally decorate our apartment (we’ve only lived here a year…oops!). The appreciation my close friends have shown for the cards they have received is making me want to find more reasons to send hand-written notes. New Years? Valentines Day? First Day of Spring? I’ll be all over it. Minted has an adorable collection of prints for our own and cards for friends that i’m loving. I kind of even love the idea of using some of their New Years cards for decoration, they’re that cute.

I’d love to know where you shop for your art. Your cards? Thoughts on keeping things gender neutral? (You’re welcome Cesar, my love).

This post was sponsored by Minted. Thank you for supporting the brands that I love, that support my shopping addiction. You know, we all benefit!

Next Steps for ThePearShape!

cesar changes

Do you remember last week how I wrote that super cryptic post about changes that would be coming to ThePearShape? That change is finally here and i’m sooooo excited! ThePearShape has officially been signed to StyleList! Woo! Let’s all do a little happy dance.

If you aren’t super familiar with the way that this sort of thing works, StyleList is a community of fashion contributors (see me here. yippie!). Along with bringing together some amazing ladies in some pretty cool areas of these interwebs, StyleList serves to help this blog connect with brands that fit the goal and intent of TPS. This is one part of this opportunity that i’m incredibly excited about. I love bringing product reviews and new fashion inspiration to you curvy beauties and joining this community will only help me to do so on a more regular basis, and with brands that I absolutely love.

In short, thank you so much in advance for supporting this blog and those sponsors that allow me to continue my shopping addiction, and share the fruits of that lovely labor with you all. Oh and also, no those photos above have nothing to do with the content of this post but isn’t that face just so damn cute you could die? Yeah. All mine

P.S. ThePearShape is the first “curvy” blogger to be signed the StyleList. If you weren’t doing a happy dance before, cue that now. I’ll wait.

Hard Tail Legging Review & Weekend Morning Routine

Hard Tail Capri Review

Harvard sweatshirt, Hard Tail Keyhole Capri leggings c/o, Prada sunglasses, Michael Kors sneakers

Most of the time you all see me looking put together, and well, clothed properly. But the reality of it is that on weekend mornings I throw on a variation of this exact outfit, walk down my street to the local coffee shop and grab the same Strawberry Banana Chia smoothie you see in my hand and come back home to prepare the rest of breakfast. My hair is up in a bun, I throw on my most comfy pants and sweatshirt, and sport big sunnies to avoid having to put on makeup. Since discovering Hard Tail a few years ago this routine has become decidedly more put together with the addition of their leggings rather than baggy sweatpants (truth).

Hard Tail Legging Review

These Hard Tail capri’s are my 4th pair from the line and I looooove them. I buy Hard Tail for two reasons: 1) they suck you in everywhere 2) they are high waisted and provide tummy control, and these aren’t any different. The grey design at the bottom adds some interest and the capri length versus my usual full-pant makes it easier to pair with shoes.

Hard Tail pant review

I always size down to a Medium in Hard Tail, just for added control but if you want to avoid the slight indentation of the grey lines in these particular pants, i’d recommend going with your regular size.

Hard Tail Review

I’m curious, what is your weekend morning routine? Do you leave the house at all? And, below please find the other Hard Tail pants i’ve owned and sincerely loved.
