I Wear Mini Dresses And I Cannot Lie

J.Crew dress (similar concept), Ann Taylor flats (old, but obsessed with these), Gifted no brand bag, Vintage necklace

Yup, shocker to the internet: I wear mini dresses! This one is even a bit short for my liking but there it is, my legs out in the open. Truth be told i’m not as comfortable in teeny tiny dresses as some, but this whole blogging journey of mine has brought me to the realization that you’ve gotta flaunt what you’ve got, and love it regardless.

To balance out the short length, I tend to go for mini dresses that are a bit roomier in the torso. This helps me feel a little better and not like the dress is going to ride up at any second.

And yes, that is a monogrammed bag from my brother’s wedding. Remember when I posted it on Instagram!?

Leather Dress Styled Two Ways + Video!

Daytime Outfit: J.Crew sweater (similar), DVF dress, SPANX tights, J.Crew boots

The styling of a leather dress started as a reader challenge, posted on Twitter. Always willing to take on a style challenge, and having wanted a leather dress for years, I went on a hunt. It took quite a while, but in this year’s Nordstrom anniversary sale I came across this stunning DVF piece for 75% off it’s original price…I literally jumped for joy. With stunning buttery leather panels and the most flattering fit and flare shape, I have worn this dress countless times already and wanted to share two simple day and night stylings with you here.

For day, to tone down the dominatrix-esque feel of leather, I layered a casual white sweater and used a belt to cinch in the waist and keep the sweater from draping over my tummy. Basic boots and loose curls complete the daytime look.

For evening, I went a little more glam, showcasing the leather and my shape by layering underneath:

Evening Outfit: J.Crew blouse, DVF Dress, Sam Edelman sandals

A basic white blouse and red lips allow the full focus to be on the dress, complete with exposed zipper and stretch back. The fit and flare makes my waist look tiny and the covered chest area balances the short length.

I’m so in love with the stretch back of this dress that allows it to truly hug my figure, making for a perfect fit off the rack!

I want to start doing a little bit more animation with my outfit posts so I put together a little video for these particular pairings in an effort to showcase the movement and beauty of this dress. I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for reading and to Mallory Mitchell for shooting these photos!

Styling Your Boyfriend’s Sweater

J Brand high rise jeans, Lacoste men’s pullover (very similar), Hunter “Huntress” wellies, Prada sunglasses, J.Crew bracelet

When you’re inside doing laundry all day for yourself, and you run out to dinner, you wear your boyfriend’s clothes. Or at least I do. This was the exact scenario yesterday and the result was a really adorable grungy style with some girly touches that I loved. Much to my boyfriend’s dismay.

One note I wanted to make is that Cesar typically wears a L or XL in men’s clothing, making his garments at least 2 sizes too big on me. To keep the fabric at bay and make some shape I opted for my high waisted jeans and tucked the front end in. This kept it from looking like a big square hanging on my frame.

The back didn’t hang too low or cut across my widest part, which was another key. I also added some girly details like this sparkly bracelet and red lips.

I actually really love this style and am looking into more oversized, albeit women’s, sweaters to continue styling like this. What are your thoughts? Yay? Nay?

Denim on Denim on Denim

Gap jacket (ancient, similar here), J.Crew chambray, Paige jeans, Ann Taylor flats, H&M necklace (old, similar), Prada sunglasses

Denim on denim… on denim! Crazy, I know. I had an urge a few weeks back to wear all of these pieces and decided to make a few tweaks in order to wear them together, in a flattering way. I opted for straight leg jeans (in lieu of skinny or flare) to keep proportions even on the botton and buttoned the two front buttons of the jacket for shape.

Apologies for wearing these sunglasses in literally every post. I’m so obsessed! They are so perfect worn with everything that I can’t seem to let them go.

For added interest with this outfit I rolled my sleeves and added a bold gold necklace to draw the eye upward. I opted for basic makeup but a bold lip to keep the attention up top.

In other news, i’m thinking of selling a few pieces from my wardrobe including these flats. Would anyone be interested in purchasing? I want to gauge what you all think before I post them on Pose or sell them here. Let me know in the comments below!
