StyleMint Phillips Sweater

StyleMint Phillips sweater (more draped options below), BDG jeans, J.Crew belt, Sincerely Jules Celfie t-shirt, Prada sunglasses, Sam Edelman sandals (on sale at Nordstrom!)

This. Sweater. It has literally been on my body morning, noon and night since I got it. The way this came to be is actually even better. StyleMint sent me an email a few weeks ago saying I had credits that were going to expire. Having never shopped any of the Mint brands I perused the website and decided to take a chance on this sweater, something I wouldn’t have normally spent my money on. Seriously, it has proven to be the most versatile thing in my wardrobe. I wear it on weekends over baggy t-shirts, for work over skinny jeans with boots and a nice top, or for nights out under a tighter-fitting blouse.

I was originally hesitant about the extreme drape but find that when belted it has a cool, casual vibe. Even when left open I love to wear tighter fitting stuff and let the sweater just be a baggy top, almost like an overcoat.

I know that not everyone is into buying from the Mint brands so here are some others that look very similar. P.S. yes, i’m wearing sandals in February. San Francisco loves me. Thank you weather gods!

Striped Shift Dress

Joules Vest c/o, J.Crew dress (old, see more options below), SPANX tights, Steve Madden boots, Prada sunglasses

I wore this outfit on Sunday to brunch and a photo session with some of my favorite blogger babes. We had so much fun discovering this old loading dock and messing around with our cameras. I wanted to be comfy yet chic and spent a good 15 minutes staring at my closet unsure of what to wear. Whenever i’m in this situation my default is always a dress of some kind. This old J.Crew shift has served me well through countless seasons and when paired with this equally cheery vest, it transitions perfectly into cooler weather.

Fun fact: I shrunk this dress in the dryer a few months ago. I love it so much that I opt to pair it with 100% opaque tights and boots to still be able to wear it.

I love that the inside of this hood also has contrasting stripes. Fun, but unintentional! Because I know this exact dress is so old, here are a few other options that i’m loving (and seriously considering picking up to replace this old one i’ve got).

All Black Sunday

Andrew Marc Jacket (shop more recent versions below), J.Crew shell, Pixie pants, Boots. Ray Ban sunglasses, Louis Vuitton Speedy

I wore this outfit to a party at a coworker’s house on Sunday and felt pretty great. I wanted to be comfortable but still look chic and my go-to to accomplish this is always all black. My pixie pants served me well and these boots are just comfortable enough for all-day wear while still looking put together.

In other news, Cesar and I had an amazing Valentine’s Day. He sent me gorgeous red tulips and cooked me a steak dinner. We capped off the evening binge watching House of Cards. Ob. Sessed.

My jacket from Andrew Marc above is one of the most versatile items in my wardrobe. It happens to be from 2 seasons ago but here are a few updated options i’m loving:

Easy Pattern Mixing

J.Crew blouse (similar), LOFT coat (old, but shop more options below), Topshop skirt (this year’s options), SPANX tights, Hunter Huntress Boots, Prada sunglasses

As I mentioned yesterday, it has been raining non-stop in San Francisco, so my shoe options are limited. I’ve been reworking a bunch of older items and experimenting with pattern mixing even more. This giraffe print skirt has become a neutral in my closet because of it’s classic color palette, and this waterproof striped trench has been worth it’s cost ten times over for it’s versatility. I’m so glad I picked it up way back when.

Other amazing striped trench coats can be found here. It really is one of my most complimented wardrobe staples.
