Do you ever feel like regardless of what jewelry or shoes you choose, your outfit is just plain? That was how I felt on this particular morning. I didn’t want to wear “real” clothes (as I call them), so a soft jersey maxi dress and draped knits was what was happening. No necklace could make me feel great so I went to work and hoped for the best. The beauty of working in an environment with such fashionable people is that there are always accessories floating around. Like these mirrored sunglasses, for example. Such a simple, cheap way to make an outfit. A statement, if you will.
As you’re reading this i’m lounging on a beach in Belize with my best girlfriend from college. We’re sipping cocktails, catching up on each other’s lives and enjoying being still. Part of the fun of these kinds of vacations is the preparing. Shopping for the perfect evening outfits is half of the battle for me, so when I came across this River Island dress on ASOS I immediately had visions of wearing it with heels to dinner, and over a bathing suit on the beach.
I love the ease and freedom of a tank dress with the added interest of contrasting patterns. When paired with a leather jacket it instantly becomes work appropriate.
As you can see the back of the dress has a gorgeous criss cross pattern. This is something i’ll love in Belize but was hidden by my jacket for work.
I’ve linked up with a few of my favorite blogging ladies from Poshmark this week, all sharing how we style black and white outfits. Take a look below!
You may remember this dress from a wedding last year. It’s Ted Baker and to be completely honest, it’s been sitting in my closet since that post. I was determined to find a way to re-wear it for a more casual Saturday afternoon, and resorted to my old-school standby: throw a sweater over it and call it a day.
I couldn’t be more in love with the way this outfit came together and love the fun vibe of the pleated skirt peaking out under the subtle camo.
Emily and I spent this last weekend in Napa celebrating Lauren‘s upcoming nuptials. I absolutely adore Napa and love the simplicity it provides only 45 miles outside of the city. Naturally I wanted to look the part, and naturally all of my clothing was at the dry cleaner as I was attempting to pack the morning of. So, a gold evening dress it was for our daytime brunch.
I toned down the look with my trusty jean jacket that i’ve had forever and ever, and some basic nude wedges. I loved the statement the dress made along with the chic comfort my trusty basics added.
Happy Monday to you, friends!
