Susana Monaco dress via GILT (here in sleeveless blue, here in peplum top style in the same green, Pour la Victoire wedges (old, similar from DVF), Target clutch

I’ve had the same $100 worth of GILT credit for probably a year and a half. I’ve purchased things, not liked them, returned them for credit more times than I can count. Finally, there was a “basics” sale on GILT and this Susana Monaco stunner popped into my feed. I loved it instantly and I adore it even more on. With it’s fitted bodice, scooped back, pleated detailing and modest length, it’s the perfect Summer to Fall transition dress.

Happy Thursday!

Strapless Maxi Dress

IMG_6122-2

ASOS dress, Vintage Gucci belt, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Old Andrew Marc leather jacket (love this one)

Things I never thought i’d buy: strapless dresses. Not one for bras without straps, bandeau-style tops never appealed to me. However, I love the look of a leather jacket over a maxi dress, and for under $30, I couldn’t pass up a bit of cheeky animal print. With a fitted bodice and a flow-y bottom…sold.

Joie Floral Shift Dress (similar style here), J.Crew striped top (similar), Vintage clear Gucci clutch, Ray-Ban Aviators

World’s worst blogger? Yup. On a happier note, i’m pretty obsessed with this outfit. It was created out of pure necessity: I wanted to wear a pretty floral dress to work, but it’s freezing in the office. The result? I grabbed a t-shirt in a similar color pattern, threw it on over the dress, tied it in a knot, and voila! Instant chic.

This clear Gucci clutch has quite a bit of history associated with it. It was one of those gifts with purchase that my mom received a million years ago. She’s kept it and has since passed it down to me. Vintage Gucci sport. Yes please.

Mirrored sunglasses borrowed from Maria (similar from ASOS), Club Monaco dress (similar), J.Crew sweater (here in red), ASOS necklace

Do you ever feel like regardless of what jewelry or shoes you choose, your outfit is just plain? That was how I felt on this particular morning. I didn’t want to wear “real” clothes (as I call them), so a soft jersey maxi dress and draped knits was what was happening. No necklace could make me feel great so I went to work and hoped for the best. The beauty of working in an environment with such fashionable people is that there are always accessories floating around. Like these mirrored sunglasses, for example. Such a simple, cheap way to make an outfit. A statement, if you will.
