ASOS High Low Dress

A new favorite dress, in basic black and under $100! This ASOS swing dress is becoming a fast favorite in my closet. With it’s high-low hemline providing extra coverage over the tush area, and the waist slimming middle line, I love it. One word of caution are the somewhat slim sleeves. I’m wearing a size 10 here and the arms could stand to be a tiny bit wider.

6 Shore Road Cover Up

6 Shore Road cover up worn as dress, Vintage slip & wedges, Prada sunglasses

Admittedly, I scooped up this cover up during a Cusp sale after spotting it on Julia during her Cabo trip. I’m headed to Belize with my best girlfriend in July and thought it would be the perfect piece for lounging on crystal-sand beaches. I planned to save it for a few months but couldn’t resist throwing it on over some nude slips for a quick stroll around the neighborhood on a particularly hot day. I absolutely love the bold print and the unique shape. Not typically one to buy oversized items, I think it’s flattering in a unique way.

The geometric print that rises in a deep V in the center of my body draws the eye inward, while the uneven hem keeps it youthful.

Fun fact about this lace slip: it was my grandmothers, and it’s Dior. She purchased it in the late 50’s and passed it down to be a few years ago. I wear it rarely to preserve it as best as possible, but absolutely love it’s delicate detail peaking out from this modern dress.

Absolutely can’t wait for Belize in July and am continuing the purchasing process. Anything you think I can’t do without?

Tibi Button-Back Cotton Peplum – Style 1

Tibi blouse, James Jeans, J.Crew flats (half off in these gorgeous pastel colors)

I purchased this peplum months ago, and have been waiting to style it for the blog ever since. To say that it has become one of my favorite pieces would be an understatement. It is the cotton, Summer version to this blouse, and I couldn’t be more obsessed with the dramatic shape. Here I paired it with simple high-rise straight leg jeans, my favorite bright flats and some cute accessories. I have also worn it more formally with a pencil skirt and heels. That outfit will be up tomorrow, so stay tuned!

These photos were actually shot in a very special place by a very special group of ladies. If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen that I have another life update for you all. I have gotten quite a few emails asking about my work and if something had changed, and it has! I have officially joined the Poshmark team full-time, and couldn’t be more thrilled. There are an amazing crop of bloggers that happen to work at the company in different capacities, and the ladies shoot outfit photos at the end of each day. These were shot by my love, Maria.

How To: Choose A Flattering Crossbody Bag

Over the last few weeks, I have received quite a few requests to do a post about crossbody bags. How I shop for them, how I wear them, and what I look for in the perfect bag. In my personal collection, the one that I use the most is a buttery leather black bag from a trip to Italy a few years back. It is the perfect size and has served me so well over the years. Here are the key components I looked for when shopping for the ideal crossbody bag:

1). I always look for unstructured crossbody bags. The weight on the side of your hip looks better when the bag drapes around the body, versus adding bulk with structure

2). Size is key. A medium size bag is ideal. On someone of my size (for reference i’m 5’6), a super petite bag will look out of place. However a huge duffle is impractical. A medium size and shape holds everything I need without being the focal point of the outfit.

3). Play with placement. I always opt for bags that have adjustable straps. That way I can play with the length and have it sit just perfectly on my body. For me, this is square on my hip. I find that any higher and I look short, and any lower the bag pulls me down and looks sloppy

Here are a few crossbody options in the general size range and structure I was speaking about. Any would be amazing, basic additions to a wardrobe:
