Endless Rose Off-the-Shoulder Top

Top, Jeans (wearing a size 14), Lipstick, Boots – Wide Calf available at 30% Off

I am absolutely obsessed with this top. It’s by endless rose and I scooped it up off Revolve about a year ago. I never ever buy anything off Revolve (nothing is ever available in my size), but took a chance on this top in a size L and it is so roomy that it fits beautifully.

I love the sexiness of the color against my skin tone, the slight sheerness of it, and the off-the-shoulder. Paired with all black, hair up and a bold lip, this outfit is amazing for a date night

Feet in the air because I MADE WIDE CALF BOOTS! And they fit! I’m wearing a size 18″ for reference.

All smiles for great lipstick and entrepreneurship!

The Ultimate Wide Calf Boot by Part & Parcel

I hit puberty when I was 9 years old. My entire body changed in the course of 6 months and I went from a girl to a girl in a plus size woman’s body. Since that time I’ve struggled finding items that fit. From jeans to bras to swimwear to boots, I’ve always felt frustrated by fashion, left behind across an industry I loved.

This frustration ultimately led to my starting this blog. In 2011, it became my outlet to share how I navigated that frustration, and how I worked around it. It became my place to share with the world and connect with so many of you.

And now, this blog is what ultimately led to my next adventure. Allow me to introduce: Part & Parcel. A size inclusive fashion brand built and designed by me, launching on October 10.

When I decided to launch a fashion company I didn’t want to start by trying to master everything. For plus size women there are enough fit issues with enough products that I wanted to master something specific, a pain point we all feel. So I sat for a long time and thought about the number one thing I wanted but couldn’t find, and the thing you all always told me you wanted: a great fitting wide calf boot, regardless of size.

So, Part & Parcel was born. We are launching on October 10, on Kickstarter, with a meticulously grafted, high quality leather riding boot offered in four calf widths: 16″, 18″, 20″ and 22″, made in women’s shoe sizes 6-12.

These images are just a few teasers of what’s to come. But suffice it to say I’m SO excited and hope you are too. Sign up to hear more on our website, and follow us on Instagram @thepartandparcel.

Thank you in advance for your support. I love ya’ll and am so happy to be on this journey together.

Questions for You

Okay so, before we get into the details of this post, let’s just take a collective sigh after the last year it’s been. Yes, I got married in 2016 (woot!) but otherwise, this has been a rough year. And gosh, the last month has been just beastly. I’ve had a terrible cold, followed by bronchitis, followed by the holidays. And so, no posts. Womp womp. 2017, i’m rootin’ for ya.

What I really want to do in this post is as ya’ll some questions. I’d love your candid, honest responses in the comments below, or via email (thepearshape@gmail.com), twitter, instagram, wherever or whenever. I’m doing some research for a potentially very exciting project, and your input would be the most welcome.

1. Where do you shop for leather wide calf boots?
2. How much would you pay for a beautifully designed, luxury wide calf leather boot (think Stuart Weitzman style, but that actually fit your calf)?
3. If you could design your perfect boot, what would it look like?

As always, ya’ll just make my heart sing. Thank you for being you, and for being here.

My Favorite Wide Calf Boots

If there’s one thing that’s SO. HARD. to purchase as a woman with thick calves, it’s boots. While i’m no expert, there are two pairs that i’ve found over the years that I just had to share.

The above is the Hunter Boots “Huntress” that i’ve posted about in this post, and this one. The calf circumference is 16 inches and they come to just about 2 inches below the knee. These boots are spectacular, and have been a staple in my wardrobe for many years.

The second is the Enzo Angiolini “Sumilo” boot. A classic just-below-the-knee black boot, with a 3 inch heel, you just can’t go wrong. These boots have been in my wardrobe for years (this post, as an example), and are so comfortable. They have a 16 inch calf circumference with leather that will give just a bit more than that for ladies with even wider calves. While i’m not the hugest fan of the buckle, I decided to keep these because of their versatility, and at the time when I bought them, so few options.

Are there any wide-calf boots you’ve found and love? In particular, please do send along recommendations for an over-the-knee boot for us wide-calf ladies.
