My Favorite Wide Calf Boots

screen-shot-2016-10-05-at-9-26-18-pm

If there’s one thing that’s SO. HARD. to purchase as a woman with thick calves, it’s boots. While i’m no expert, there are two pairs that i’ve found over the years that I just had to share.

The above is the Hunter Boots “Huntress” that i’ve posted about in this post, and this one. The calf circumference is 16 inches and they come to just about 2 inches below the knee. These boots are spectacular, and have been a staple in my wardrobe for many years.

The second is the Enzo Angiolini “Sumilo” boot. A classic just-below-the-knee black boot, with a 3 inch heel, you just can’t go wrong. These boots have been in my wardrobe for years (this post, as an example), and are so comfortable. They have a 16 inch calf circumference with leather that will give just a bit more than that for ladies with even wider calves. While i’m not the hugest fan of the buckle, I decided to keep these because of their versatility, and at the time when I bought them, so few options.

Are there any wide-calf boots you’ve found and love? In particular, please do send along recommendations for an over-the-knee boot for us wide-calf ladies.

Ann Taylor Trench Dress

Club Monaco vest (updated version), Ann Taylor trench, Tibi blouse (in white), Zara necklace via Poshmark, BDG jeans, French Connection booties, Saint Laurent handbag (borrowed from Jennifer)

There are so many reasons i’m obsessed with this outfit: 1) i’m layering two vests. Who does that? This girl. 2) These booties are new and are so. amazing. Comfortable, versatile, the best. 3) The trench dress turned vest in these photos has gone with me everywhere since I scooped it up. I mean, brunch on a Sunday with stretchy pants to work meetings.

So much bling and so many textures. Layering was clearly what I was feeling on this particular day.

In all seriousness, these booties are the business. They are a manageable 3.5 inch heel and are so incredibly walkable. This coming from the girl who admittedly teeters in most stilettos.

Keds Floral Print Sneakers

IMG_4910-2

Andrew Marc leather jacket (more recent option), J.Crew tank (wearing an XL for an oversized fit), BCG Jeans, Taylor Swift x Keds sneakers, Ray-Ban Aviators

Since getting back from Belize life has been insane. Between catching up on work, organizing my apartment and seeing friends I hadn’t seen while away, I haven’t had a moment. Outfits like this one have become my go-to during times like this. A loose tank, haphazardly tucked into high-rise jeans, and some sort of comfortable but stylish shoe. During J.Crew’s last sale I ordered about 10 of these jersey Prima tops in 3 sized too large, hoping for this exact oversized fit. I’d highly recommend keeping an eye on this item for their next sale. They’ve been a lifesaver.

And how cute are these sneakers!? An outfit maker if i’ve ever seen one.

Gentle Souls Break My Heart Sandal

IMG_2419

Joules vest, J.Crew shirt, J.Crew Pixie pant, Louis Vuitton handbag, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Gentle Souls sandals

Victoria¬†recommended these sandals a few weeks ago, and i’m a bit embarrassed to admit how quickly I clicked over to Zappos to scoop them up. Living in San Francisco I’m always in need of stylish walking shoes, and these fit the bill. The lace up detail provides a bit of extra support while the memory foam soul makes it feel like you’re walking on clouds. You need to own these.
