J.Crew Fluted Skirt, Re-Styled and Steve Madden Intyce Boots

IMG_7251

Piperlime sweater, J.Crew skirt (reviewed here), SPANX tights, Steve Madden boots on sale! (a great wide-calf option), Target clutch, Sole Society + Kendra Scott (similar) necklaces

The last time I styled this skirt I was bare legged and definitely a little fancier. True to my comfort-loving self, i’m obsessed with this skirt even more when paired with a slouchy oversized sweater (tucked in for some definition) and slouchy boots.

Doin’ a little jig for ya, naturally. Thanks to Kate for capturing this fine moment

Mixing patterns and textures, always. I’m working on an outfit that mixes 4 patterns. An idea after a challenge from a reader. Challenge accepted.

I also wanted to talk about these boots briefly. After complaining about not finding a high-heeled wide leg option, I did want to mention how much I love these slouchy Steve Madden stunners. I’ve had them for years and I love the oversized fit around my ankle. It adds a bit of texture and proportion to any outfit. Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a lower heel/wedge option!

Can you believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow? I’ll be cozying up with some of my closest girlfriends for our first Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving and I couldn’t be happier. I’m so thankful to have each and every one of you. Truly, thank you for visiting.

On The Hunt: Extended Calf Heeled Boots

wide calf boots

Madewell “The Watchtower” (old, but does anyone know where I can find them, or anyone tried them?), UGG “Dreaux”

If you’re a ThePearShape veteran, you know i’ve been on the hunt for a pair of wide-calf heeled boots for ever. I have ordered and tried countless pairs, either not happy with the heel height, material or comfort. At this point, I am willing to take a look at a great brown/cognac pair or a sleek black option in a variation of heel heights. My only requirements are that they are leather and comfortable enough to walk in. I am definitely not in the business of teetering on these babies through work. Anyone have any specific recommendations? Anywhere i’m not looking? I have considered Duo but don’t want to go custom unless I have to. Help!

Cole Haan Cassidy Boot

Cole Haan Cassidy Boot

Cole Haan “Cassidy” Tall Boot

If you saw how many things I order online and return, you’d be surprised. Or maybe you wouldn’t (#addict. #jk). The allure of stores has been lost on me in recent years, and I find myself trusting online reviews and descriptions much more. Which brings me to my next point, boots. I have wanted a pair of heeled black boots forever. I’ve ordered, returned, and tried so many variations it’s sickening. My most recent acquisition are these Cole Haan Cassidy boots. I am taking a different approach, expanding beyond the wide-calf options and simply deciding to wear these scrunched for a more casual look. Stay tuned for a full report!

Wedge Military Ankle Boots With Skinny Jeans

IMG_2564-2

J.Crew blazer, Ann Taylor sequins top (old, similar), Banana Republic skinny jeans, Kelsi Dagger wedges (this year’s), Tory Burch sunglasses (here in tortoise), Anthropologie necklace (old, amazing option)

I wore this outfit to work last week and to be honest, I wasn’t the most comfortable in it. I have had these Kelsi Dagger booties for ages but had never worn them with skinny jeans tucked in. I always felt that they “pegged” my legs too much and emphasized the width of my thighs. I decided to experiment last week and am not 100% convinced I love it. Hypocritical I know, considering I just did a post on black ankle booties, but i’m working on it!

What I do love is this sequins tank. If you can believe it, I have almost given this tank away so many times but now have rediscovered it and love pairing it in unexpected ways.

I’d love to know what you think of these booties. Honest opinions! I trust your objective eye and would love to know if I looked ridiculous last week at work.
