Striped Skater Dress For Work

IP1A0808

Gap dress (old, similar), Ferragamo “Vara” pumps, Vintage belt

You’ve seen this dress before, but I wanted to restyle it sans tights and for warmer weather as we head into Summer. Honestly, I couldn’t love this dress more. It has a dramatic shape and the stripes give it some added interest. Paired with my classic Ferragamo Vara’s (still one of my best investments to date), it is a cute outfit that works perfectly for the office or out to dinner.

Once again these amazing photos were shot by my talented friend Erica Garlieb. She is a fantastic new photographer in the Bay Area. Love. Obsessed.

Equipment Roland Sweater + A Sneak Peak Inside My New Apartment

IMG_0256-2

Equipment top via Nordstrom Rack (Spring version), Topshop skirt (similar), Chanel WOC, Pour la Victoire wedges (this year’s style)

This sweater is another example of a sensational Nordstrom Rack find. Beautiful silk panelling on the front gives way to cozy wool in the back. I love the subtle print and the versatile navy color, especially paired with nude wedges and giraffe print. I kept the accessories neutral and punched it up with a red lip.

Forever 21 Ruched Dress – Worn as Top

IMG_0353-2

Forever 21 dress worn as top, ASOS pants (alteration story here), Pour la Victoire wedges (this year’s linked), Target clutch

I ordered this Forever 21 dress thinking it would be a cheaper alternative to my beloved James Perse dress. As it turns out (with most things at Forever 21 these days) it was way to short for my comfort. Rather than sending it back, I styled it as a ruched top with my favorite wide-leg pants.

I love the look of the tighter top with the wide pant to balance the look, coupled with my newly rediscovered favorite wedges. The outfit feels slightly seductive yet fully covered.

J.Crew Fluted Skirt and Mixed Winter Prints

IMG_8894-2

J.Crew T-shirt, Scarf (similar), Skirt and Boots (this year’s)

So I have a J.Crew addiction. Sue me. Also, Cesar loves this outfit. #Winner. But in all seriousness, I didn’t notice how much this skirt highlights my recent pooch as it does in these photos. In real life I feel much more comfortable wearing tops that tuck into this skirt but these pictures make me look preggo (not preggo, for reference). Regardless, I really like this outfit and appreciate the European feel it has.

Each of these pieces have been true workhorses for me since purchased. This skirt has been styled countless ways and this scarf makes the perfect pattern mix basic. J.Crew boots have also surprised me. While not the most comfortable shoes for long-time wear, they are sleek and serve the purpose for nights out and work days.

What are your thoughts on this skirt? Does anyone else own it?
