Review: GAP Skinny Ankle Utility Chino

Top (here in navy), Pants (currently 40% off), Shoes (vintage, similar here), Bag, Sunglasses (the color I have is sold out, but here they are in black and tortoise)

I’m excited to review another pant that has recently become a favorite in my wardrobe: the GAP skinny ankle utility chino. I’m wearing them in the army green color, and let me just tell you that they are so versatile and have worked their way into outfits of mine, weekly.

On top of the awesome color choices, the fit was stellar right off the rack. I did have to size up in these, i’m wearing a 14, but I did that mostly because I wanted a bit of a baggier look, rather than a skin-tight jean kind of look.

These pants have about a 28 inch inseam, making them just ankle length when rolled down, and perfectly messy when rolled as I have them here. They also have a mid-rise, coming to just below my belly button.

I absolutely adore the long side pocket look and don’t think it adds any additional bulk.

If I could make one complaint about these pants it would be that the back pockets are flaps that close with a snap closure, and never quite stay securely shut. This isn’t the cutest look when walking around the office, but I find that I just close them every time I use the restroom and the problem is solved.

Are there any other pants you’ve found and are loving lately? I’m always on the hunt!

Ann Taylor Trench Dress

Club Monaco vest (updated version), Ann Taylor trench, Tibi blouse (in white), Zara necklace via Poshmark, BDG jeans, French Connection booties, Saint Laurent handbag (borrowed from Jennifer)

There are so many reasons i’m obsessed with this outfit: 1) i’m layering two vests. Who does that? This girl. 2) These booties are new and are so. amazing. Comfortable, versatile, the best. 3) The trench dress turned vest in these photos has gone with me everywhere since I scooped it up. I mean, brunch on a Sunday with stretchy pants to work meetings.

So much bling and so many textures. Layering was clearly what I was feeling on this particular day.

In all seriousness, these booties are the business. They are a manageable 3.5 inch heel and are so incredibly walkable. This coming from the girl who admittedly teeters in most stilettos.

Vince Silk Tunic

Vince silk tunic, Lululemon Wunder Under pant, Steve Madden Intyce boots (updated version here), Alexander McQueen handbag

A forever fan of Vince, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to update one of my favorite basics: the white blouse. These days after a long work week all I want to do is slip into a pair of stretchy pants, a tunic and some boots and be on my way. As a result, i’ve been stocking up on longer versions of my favorite tops: namely jersey basics from J.Crew & white silk blouses but in longer lengths.

And yes, still entirely too obsessed with this handbag. The best 24th birthday present to myself!

And, hello temporary tattoo. Yes, I love you.

Susana Monaco

Susana Monaco dress via GILT (here in sleeveless blue, here in peplum top style in the same green, Pour la Victoire wedges (old, similar from DVF), Target clutch

I’ve had the same $100 worth of GILT credit for probably a year and a half. I’ve purchased things, not liked them, returned them for credit more times than I can count. Finally, there was a “basics” sale on GILT and this Susana Monaco stunner popped into my feed. I loved it instantly and I adore it even more on. With it’s fitted bodice, scooped back, pleated detailing and modest length, it’s the perfect Summer to Fall transition dress.

Consider me a Susana Monaco convert.
