I am so pleased to finally be able to share a fun photoshoot I did with the other Poshmark bloggers for Racked San Francisco a few weeks back! We gathered in the city with the insanely talented Erica Garlieb and had the most fun styling our own individual takes on Fall Brights and trends we are loving/hating for the season. Hop on over to Racked to see the images of all of us together (our styles are so individual and so fun!) and brace yourselves for a picture heavy post below. Thanks again to Racked, Erica and Poshmark for a wonderful afternoon and feature!
You may remember this dress from a wedding last year. It’s Ted Baker and to be completely honest, it’s been sitting in my closet since that post. I was determined to find a way to re-wear it for a more casual Saturday afternoon, and resorted to my old-school standby: throw a sweater over it and call it a day.
I couldn’t be more in love with the way this outfit came together and love the fun vibe of the pleated skirt peaking out under the subtle camo.
A new Nordstrom Rack opened in Union Square a few weeks ago, and after work one day a colleague and I couldn’t help but go check it out. It’s still so new and all of the merchandise is in its proper place, with amazing finds from some really fantastic designers. I spotted this Joie shift dress on the rack and picked it up immediately. The red and daisy print reminds me of my mom in the 70′s so much. I figured immediately that it would be too short, shapeless, or not suitable for my curves but opted to try it on. Much to my delight and surprise, I was immediately obsessed with it.
I love that even though the dress is essentially shapeless, it is still fun and flirty. The pleats give it some added interest, and when paired with nude shoes, my legs actually look thinner and a mile long. I threw on this leather jacket to give some form to the dress, but love it just as much without it.
I have a few belts that would work well with this style, and might play around with a belted option, but for now I can’t wait to pair this with more nude shoes for Spring, and tights and boots as we finish off this cold weather.
As I found this dress at a Nordstrom Rack, here are a few more similar options for your viewing pleasure!
The last time I wore this dress it was for my brother’s wedding. I searched for months to find the perfect dress for that evening and when I found this one, for under $200 at Nordstrom I was thrilled. The fit of this is probably one of my favorites of any dress I own and I always feel like a princess when I wear it. Eliza J is also wonderful for both “regular” and plus sized options, so definitely check out the brand if you’re in need of a formal occasion dress.
This dress pairs so well with so many casual items. Booties, sandals, jean jackets or even other printed jackets for winter. I absolutely love how it looks paired down for casual days.
How have you restyled your formal occasion dresses?
