James Jeans Hunter High Rise Straight Leg

James Jeans (wearing a size 31), Target turtleneck, Madewell belt, Michael Kors sneakers (old, but love these), Tory Burch sunnies

I snapped these pictures quickly last week after receiving these jeans in the mail after the Shopbop sale. I ordered these high rise straight leg jeans in the hopes they would be a high rise option that would allow more versatility in footwear (read: not just boots).

I love the fit but as you can see they are not true high rise jeans on me. I’m guessing it is the extra junk in the trunk, if you catch my drift, that keeps them from rising as high as they look on the model, but I still like the placement. They hit right below my belly button and can be worn with shirts tucked in or untucked just the same.

They are super long, so for any tall ladies, I suggest looking into these. It is on my list to get them hemmed to flats (my preferential shoe height) soon. One other note: these jeans stain. I don’t mean just stain your shoes or bags if you wear them new, but stain your skin. I wore them for a whole day right out of the package and my skin was blue in the shower that night. Lots of scrubbing was needed!

Let me know if you try these out! I’d love to see them on you.

Hah – the awkward blue jean skin stain. I know it so well. These look great on you! I haven’t gotten to into high rise jeans – it still screams “mom” to me but maybe I should give it a whirl!

Hi Lauren, Thank you so much for reviewing our High Rise jeans. We are so glad you like them! We did want to note that indigo bleeds and there is no way of neutralizing this 100%, but we do use solvents that minimize it as much as possible. The darker the indigo is, the more “dips” through the indigo bath the yarns have been through, so this is just a natural part of the indigo fibers. You can always go for a slightly lighter wash to minimize this. Thanks again for your review! xx James Jeans

Do you do the wash in vinegar trick to set the color? That usually works for me…for the most part. Sometimes they still rub off on lighter shoes and handbags.
