Like a lot of bloggers, I am obsessed with the JCrew silk Blythe Blouse shown here. It is polished, perfect for tucking into skirts and pants for work, but silky and luxurious all the same.
I wore this outfit for some errands with the boyfriend and felt put-together but comfortable. Along with this blouse, these Levi’s Curve ID jeans continue to be a staple in my wardrobe. I will be doing a full jean post soon, but for now let me say that these “supreme curve” straight leg jeans have the perfect amount of stretch with no gaping at the waist.
One thing to note about this blouse are some of the fit issues usually associated with JCrew items. In this post I am wearing a size 12, I bought it before I lost about 20lbs on Medifast. I bought it that size to avoid gaping in the chest and pulling along the last button in the waist that I often find with silk tops. The measurements of this blouse are 32 along the shoulders, and 40 along the hips. Even after losing some weight I still feel a little bit of pulling along the hips which is frustrating. I think the only way to completely avoid this would be to buy a size up and alter it down, which I don’t think is worth it as I plan to use this blouse tucked in primarily for work.
I paired this top with my favorite wrist-mix, two bracelets from JCrew, and my favorite gold Dolce Vita sandals.
