Classic Casual

Brooks Brothers shirt, Madewell belt, Banana Republic jeans, Sperry sneakers, Chanel WOC, Prada sunglasses

Seriously the most casual outfit ever. Hair up in a clip, no lipstick, jeans and a basic button down was my uniform for Saturday walking around with Cesar. If you follow me on instagram (@laurenhaber) you know we went to the most awesome food truck fair in SoMa and loved it more than Off the Grid. Less crowded, live band, win win all around.

As much as i’m in love with my Chanel WOC, i’m in the market for a new handbag and can’t get it out of my mind. For the first time ever I don’t have a true obsession (though i’m crushing on this one). I think i’m leaning towards something leopard? Anyone have any leopard handbag recs?

Thanks so much for reading!

5 Jeans Every Pearshape Should Own

J Brand Maria High Rise Skinny Jean worn with Superga sneakers

I have spent quite a long time cultivating my jeans collection. As an item of clothing that I wear multiple times a week, I choose my fits carefully, and have scoured the market for the 5 jeans every pearshaped woman should own in building a flattering wardrobe.

First up is the high rise skinny. After trying on countless pairs of skinny and high rise options, this slightly pricier J Brand is my personal preference, however the multitasking skinny ankle coupled with the waist slimming top make it a necessity in any pearshape’s closet.

Paige bootcut jeans worn with Ferragamo low-heel pumps

This is by far my most worn jean. A classic bootcut shape, it works across all seasons and with almost any shoe type. The double button of this particular style helps in the tummy control area, and the dark wash makes it appropriate for work. I have even worn these to a more casual interview!

Ann Taylor Curvy Slim Colored Jean (here in this season’s Summer colors) worn with JCrew flats

My experimentation into colored denim actually happened on this blog, and this was my first pair. I have grown to love colored bottoms (in darker, flattering colors) and the cut of this pair has my heart. The back pocket placement doesn’t accentuate the rear too much and the tapered, though not skinny, leg opening makes it wearable for every day.

Banana Republic Flare Jean worn with Kelsi Dagger wedges

Flare jeans are my go-to night out on the town choice. I always feel sexy in these jeans and love that the wider bottom makes my thighs appear slimmer. Again a dark wash makes these perfect with heels or wedges for evening.

Ann Taylor Curvy Slim Black Jean (here in this season’s Summer colors) worn with Madewell flats

Lastly, the black jean. I have gone through so many pairs of black jeans over the years that I just can’t get enough. I love the instant pulled-together look and the versatility. This is a duplicate of the colored pair above (can you tell I love the AT curvy slims?!) and I have worn them to death. I am actually in the market to try a new pair and can’t wait to get my hands on these.

The Sexiest and Comfiest Sweatpant + a Giveaway – CLOSED

Banana Republic tank, Kings of Cole sweats (c/o) I am wearing an XL for reference

Anyone that spends a significant amount of time with me knows that I am entirely obsessed with sweatpants. Regardless of the time of day, when I get home my clothes come off and sweats go on. However, I still want to look somewhat put together and mildly attractive for my man, so sweatpants that are flattering and retain some of my shape are important.

Enter: Kings of Cole. With a universally flattering straight leg fit, roomy hip/thigh area and elastic waistband, they are the perfect lounge-at-home pant. This particular sweat comes in a variety of colors and is the perfect warmth and softness for harsh San Francisco evenings.

I absolutely love the detailing of these sweats. With rose gold side diagonal zips, they add a luxurious touch without bulk in our widest part. The zippers are finished with the Kings of Cole signature door-knocker like zip that I think is just so adorable.

To fit my height I ended up folding over the top once to shorten the rise and also expose a little tummy for added sexiness. Also of note, the pants are a tad bit long on me (for reference I am about 5’6′) but not an issue for at-home.

The line was created by entrepreneur Elana Brynes and is worn by some serious celebs: the Kardashians, Tracy Anderson, and even Mrs. Jacqueline Laurita of TRHONJ…color me impressed! Needless to say, i’m truly in love with these sweats and have worn them non stop since I got them.

P.S. see those little red and blue legs sitting on the ledge beside me? Cesar’s “Pinocchio” he picked up while we were in Italy. I swear he is 12 inside!

Because Elana and the whole Kings of Cole team is so amazing, they are doing a serious giveaway + promotion for ThePearShape readers:

Reducing Eyebrow Redness Post Waxing/Threading

reducing eyebrow redness

Ok so super awkward moment, but the picture above is me yesterday, entirely unedited and in total agony. I just had my eyebrows threaded (something I do every 6-8 months because of the pain) and was so uncomfortable, I felt like my face had just been partially ripped off. Over the years I have developed a way to get this done and reduce the extreme redness that I get with a few simple household items. Done in this sequence right after, I am always able to continue my day with no redness and no clogged pores as a result. I hope this helps!

1. rubbing alcohol + cotton balls :: This cleans the pores and for me, helps open them. It acts kind of like warm water

2. baby powder applied with fingers :: I love the way this feels. I let it sit on my eyebrows for a few minutes and just relax at home

3. aloe vera :: Followed by aloe vera. Same idea using this behind a sunburn. It reduces puffiness and redness.

4. Chanel concealer stippled on with a cotton ball :: When all else fails, add concealer or even pink eyeshadow. It combats the red color.
