Lately I have seen silk pants everywhere (namely Pinterest). They were all over the runways, and every brand seems to have their own version. Because I had a giftcard to J.Crew I decided to try their version and to say the least, the style doesn’t flatter my figure.

For starters the front bunches. The thigh area wasn’t too tight but when I walked the fabric pulled in the crotch and made me appear like I had a substantial tummy. Furthermore, the rise was an odd length. Not quite low rise but also not high rise, I ended up folding over the band to force a low rise fit and make them a bit more flattering.

From the back these pants are doing even less for me. My boyfriend described them as “unflattering workout pants” and said that from the back it looked like my rear was saggy. Those comments alone were enough to return.

In short, while I love the idea of silk pants I realize that as a woman with thighs that slightly rub together, and a rear that needs support, this is a trend i’m going to just have to pass on.

Have any of you tried silk pants? If so, where from? Did you like the fit?
