Review: Zara Puffer Coat

IMG_2611-2

Zara Puffer Coat (wearing an XL, more options below), Hat from Europe, LOFT sweater, Banana Republic pants (just repurchased again), Hunter boots, Prada sunnies, Kenneth Cole bag (this year’s, or similar)

San Francisco has decided to jump straight from indian Summer to frigid Winter and i’m feelin’ it on my walk to work every morning. I bought this puffer coat when it was on sale a few months back and reserved it for just this time of year. It is still in stock at Zara and is such a wonderful addition to my standard wool-coat collection for cold weather.

I love that this coat is intensely warm but doesn’t add a ton of bulk. When zipped up it sits very close to the body and doesn’t require a ton of layering underneath as it has a faux-down interior plus a wind-breaker lining. With a fur collar detail and zip-off hood, it has everything I could need to battle the elements.

I also love the exposed zippers at the wrist as well as the curved seaming along the back of the garment.

Finally, with tons of gold hardware and a double-zip and snap closure, it’s a stunner piece without feeling too overdone.

In other words, obsessed. Here are a few other similar coat options if you want something in the same shape but other fabrics:

The fact that it adds warmth without being super bulky is amazing. I live in upstate NY where I’ve just dug out my winter gloves (*tears*) and I’m ALWAYS cold, so a coat like this would be perfect for me. Love the contrast of the black on the belted neck and the zippers on the sleeves. Your hat is adorable, too!

like the hat too… always wear hats and (*tears*) always lose some favorites and need more :(
